Who We Are
NES is supplied with electricity by the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), a public power company that sells electricity on a nonprofit basis to 153 local power companies.
NES is among only four percent of all public utilities in the country to receive the Reliable Public Power Providers Diamond Award, the industry’s highest honor for providing safe and reliable electricity for customers. Each year, NES continues to grow to accommodate an increasing population in Middle Tennessee. Growth includes infrastructure and technology upgrades to provide customers with the highest level of service. Additionally, NES is committed to listening to customers’ needs. Music City Solar, Nashville’s first community solar park, and Home Uplift were created to offer renewable and energy efficient opportunities.
NES is certified by the Arbor Day Foundation as a Tree Line USA utility for its quality tree care, annual worker training and public education program. NES also partners with the Metro Tree Advisory Committee, the Nashville Tree Foundation and the Tennessee Urban Forestry Council.
The nearly 1,000 employees of Nashville Electric Service take pride in keeping Music City shining. It is our core mission to provide safe, reliable and cost-efficient power to all customers. This is not just a job for us. It is a commitment and at every level of our company, we care. Should you have any reason to get in touch with us, please call us directly at 615-736-6900.
